Tecnimpianti Spa

Established in 1973 and today is the worldwide absolute leader in the design and production of Lifesaving Appliances

THE BEGINNING

The company was established in 1973 to closely follow the work at the naval shipyard in Palermo, Southern Italy. Two years later, the headquarters moved to the growing industrial zone of Termini Imerese, just a few kilometers from Palermo, where a factory for naval systems production was built.

From 1973 to 1978, the focus was primarily on the maintenance and installation of state-of-the-art fluid handling technology on cargo ships.

In 1981, the company changed its name to Tecnimpianti Spa, a member of the Navim Group.

In 1984, Giuseppe Cracolici, now General Manager of Tecnimpianti Spa and CEO of Navim Group, joined the company. Under his leadership, Tecnimpianti Spa shifted its strategy toward product diversification and expanded its core business to include engineering and design of access and handling systems, as well as lifesaving appliances (davits and winches). This expansion primarily targeted the cruise segment, which was beginning to flourish in the 1980s. The rapid growth of passenger ships during this period necessitated improvements in lifeboat davits to enhance safety, maneuverability, and space on these vessels.

Tecnimpianti Spa, in alignment with its parent company Navalimpianti Spa, has become a hallmark of excellence in engineering and construction of marine equipment. Today, it is the global leader in the design and production of Lifesaving Appliances, including davits and winches.

In 2007, to better serve customers in Western and Northern Europe, Tecnimpianti established a branch in Belgium, Tecnimpianti Antwerp, which operates as a strategic commercial office offering the complete range of service and maintenance activities on-site.

More recently, Tecnimpianti Spa opened a new branch in Livorno, Italy, dedicated to the luxury yacht industry, further enhancing its design and production capabilities.
