Tecnimpianti Spa

Established in 1973 and today is the worldwide absolute leader in the design and production of Lifesaving Appliances

THE BEGINNING

The company was established in 1973 to follow closely the works in the Naval shipyard in Palermo, in Southern Italy; two years later the headquarters moved to the growing industrial zone of Termini Imerese, a few kilometers from Palermo, where a factory for the production of naval systems had been built.

From 1973 to 1978, the activity focused mainly on the maintenance and installation of state-of-the-art technology for fluids handling on board cargo ships.

In 1981, the company changed its name to Tecnimpianti Spa, a company of Navim Group.

In 1984 Giuseppe Cracolici, now General Manager of Tecnimpianti Spa and CEO of Navim Group, joined the company; under his direction Tecnimpianti Spa changed its course by applying a products diversification strategy and enlarging the core business, moving to the engineering and design of access and handling systems and to the lifesaving appliances (davits and winches), not only in the cargo sector but mostly in the Cruise segment which, around the 80s, was starting to flourish; in the late 80s and early 90s in fact, with the incredible development of passenger ships, and therefore of passengers onboard, it became necessary to refine and improve the construction of lifeboat davits better suiting these naval vessels, improving the very important issues of safety, maneuverability, and space.

Tecnimpianti Spa, in line with the parent company Navalimpianti Spa, became a griffe of excellence in the engineering and construction of marine equipment and today is the worldwide absolute leader in the design and production of  Lifesaving Appliances (Davits and Winches)
