Like every year new buildings are being launched and 2023 really looks like a particularly exciting one.
The characteristics these new ships have in common clearly set out highlights and trends speaking out for the future: Luxury, Exclusiveness, Small Ships Cruises, Bucket-List Destinations, Sustainability to name just the most evident ones.
Essentials of the luxury cruise market
The luxury cruise market has been changing over the years becoming younger, more active and adventurous, offering access to new exotic destinations, in fact nowadays luxury and expedition go hand in hand. Sensing this need, cruise lines have been designing and offering new custom-built luxury and treat adventure on expedition ships. In this trend definitely comes the second Seabourn expedition ship, the Seabourn Pursuit, being built at Mariotti in Genova combining the luxury of a Seabourn Cruise with the adventurous spirit of an expedition ship. How does Navim cope with this luxury trend? Of course by designing elegant and conceptual Davits systems at the cutting edge.
Always speaking about class, elegance and exclusivity we cannot but mention Oceania coming out with its first newbuild in over a decade launching Vista currently under construction at Fincantieri Sestri in Genoa. Some highlights about new Cruise Ships debuting 2023
Scenic Eclipse will welcome a luxury sister ship of equal innovation in 2023. Currently under construction in Uljanik Shipyard, Scenic II will travel further and farther than ever before.
For such a prestigious unit, Navim Group provides the LES and Lighting System for the Theatre and the Public Areas, the Marina platforms, side doors and the Telescopic Davits system.
Viking Saturn in delivery at the end of April and n° 10 in the line continues Viking Ocean’s run of Excellence and will keep loyal to the cruise brand typical features. On the Viking Series, Navim Group has successfully designed, manufactured and installed the Skydome swimming-pool sliding cover, the complete Side Door Systems as well as and the Telescopic davits systems.
MSC Explora I is perhaps the most notable new cruise ship of 2023 marking MSC Cruises debuting in the luxury category planning to launch at least six super-luxurious vessels by 2028, each of which is designed to hold at least 922 passengers. Explora Journeys will compete in the same upscale cruise space as Seabourn and Crystal, as well as luxury lines like Viking, Silversea Cruises and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. Among the most innovative features of the Ship there is our Skydome, the Side Doors Systems and the Davits; also the LES and the Dimming systems designed by Navim will be a characteristic elegant feature.
Arriving in May 2023, Norwegian Viva will be the second ship in NCL’s Prima Class and will be in line with its sister Norwegian Prima which debuted in 2022. Thrill seekers are going to love the bigger and better go-kart racetrack which winds around the ship’s funnel well as drop dry slides.
Among Navim supplies the Davits System, the Side shell doors and ramps systems and the Funnel Handling System.
Debuting later this year also MSC Euribia, named after the ancient goddess Eurybia who harnessed the winds, weather and constellations to master the seas. The ship, which is being built at Chantier de l’Atlantique and will be delivered in Summer, is empowered with striking new features. Not only do the decks boast numerous original works of art, for the first time the hull itself is a visual masterpiece.
To provide safety at its highest level, Navim Group is suppling 4 complete sets of semi-gravity davits.
Regent Seven Seas is presenting its Seven Seas Grandeur, the third of a series, debuting in mid-November and aiming for the title of world’s most luxurious cruise ship, with the highest space and crew ratio per passenger in the industry. There will be eye-catching sculptures, plenty of crystal and a menu that focuses on the most extravagant ingredients. As part of Navim supplies Davits System and the Side Door Systems.
Around the end of the year there will be also the presentation of the Brilliant Lady, the fourth of Virgin Voyages Lady Ships, with similar design and attitude to her sisterships.
Navim Group has designed, fabricated and delivered the Semigravity Davits, the Valve Remote Control System as well as the Side Shell Doors.
Combining tradition and contemporary luxury, the new Cunard’s cruise liner has been baptized Queen Anne, as a tribute to one of the most beloved English monarchs, and will celebrate the best design and styles from the past and the present debuting with a new livery.
Navim Group will contribute supplying a lot of systems among which a very stylish and elegant Skydome; interesting are also the Windows Washing System, the side shell doors and the Davits Systems.
