Navim Equipment on MSC EXPLORA II | Hull 6320

Navim Group proudly announces its involvement in equipping the MSC Explora II, a ship commissioned by the MSC Group and built by Fincantieri at the Sestri Shipyard, with delivery in September 2024. This vessel is the second addition to Explora Journeys, MSC Group’s new luxury travel brand.

The MSC Explora II is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Civitavecchia on September 12, 2024. The luxury liner will initially explore the Greek islands, offering a variety of itineraries, before making its way through Egypt and Saudi Arabia en route to the Indian Ocean.

MSC Explora II combines luxury with a strong commitment to sustainability. Accommodating up to 900 guests, this elegant cruise ship features spacious suites and upscale amenities while incorporating advanced environmental technologies. It is equipped with selective catalytic reduction systems, shore power plug-in connectivity, and underwater noise management to protect marine life, alongside energy-efficient equipment to optimize engine performance and minimize emissions.

Side Doors, Access and Handling Systems SIDE DOORS AND ACCESS, HANDLING SYSTEMS FOR CRUISE VESSELS

For MSC Explora II, Navim Group has delivered a comprehensive suite of access and handling systems, tailored to meet the needs of passenger, crew, and cargo operations. This includes the design, engineering, supply, manufacturing, and final commissioning of essential equipment such as Shell Doors & Observation Platforms, Side Shell Hatches and Doors, and Provision and Luggage Platforms, both hydraulically and manually operated.

Telescopic Davits on MSC Explora II Telescopic davits

Navim Group has successfully designed, engineered, and delivered a range of advanced davits for the MSC Explora II. These include:

  • Two Telescopic Davits equipped with electric-hydraulic winches for lifeboats, each capable of accommodating at least 150 persons.
  • Six Telescopic Davits with electric-hydraulic winches for tender/lifeboats, each offering a capacity of at least 150 persons in lifeboat mode and 85 persons in tender mode.
  • Two Telescopic Davits featuring electric winches and hydraulic brake control for versatile use with tender/lifeboat/rescue boats. Each davit can support boats with a capacity of at least 38 persons in lifeboat mode, 15 persons in tender mode, and 5 persons in rescue boat mode.
  • Two Slewing Davits with electric winches specifically designed for Suez service.

Window Washing and Dimming Systems  

Navim Group has also provided the concept design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of advanced Window Washing Systems for the MSC Explora II, ensuring both safety and ease of operation.

  • System 1 (YA/766A-B):
    • Two (2) manual platforms (port and starboard) for cleaning the glass balustrades on Deck 5.
    • Two (2) additional platforms (ps and stbd) designed for the glass balustrades and balconies on Decks 11 and 12.

These systems are engineered to maintain the pristine appearance of the ship’s windows and enhance overall operational efficiency

Navim Group has also supplied the Lighting Equipment, Dimming System, and RGB Strips, which create a captivating and enchanting atmosphere in the ship’s main halls, adding a touch of magic and elegance to the vessel’s interior.

Skydome Pool Sliding Cover    

Last but not least, Navim Group is proud to present the stunning SKYDOME—a large, glass sliding cover that adorns the upper deck above the “Jungle Pool.” This impressive and elegant feature not only enhances the ship’s aesthetic appeal but also provides practical functionality. The SKYDOME allows passengers to enjoy the pool area in any weather condition, whether it’s a sunny day or a rainy afternoon. By seamlessly blending beauty with versatility, the SKYDOME ensures that guests can relax and take advantage of the pool regardless of the elements, adding an extra layer of luxury to their cruising experience.
